Wellness Water

Sometimes “just what the doctor ordered” isn’t so desirable to the tastebuds, and so we tend to shy away from getting our prescribed 8 cups of water a day. Here is a way to not only add tons of flavor to your water, but to incorporate some amazing healthy nutrients without all of the added sugar, artificial sweeteners, or other not so good ingredients that are found in our bottled waters today.

If you know me at all, you know that I am absolutely over the moon about juicing and what that can do for your body. It feeds your body vibrancy and health and what is better than that? I feel rejuvenated, have more energy, and have a much clearer mind to be able to get through my days…especially the ones that require a bit more concentration. I have found that this fruit-infused “Wellness Water” has had the same effect on me! So refreshing and nourishing, I felt I must share the recipe with you!

Perfect for the approaching much warmer temps, you can keep yourself hydrated and sustained especially when spending a lot of time outdoors which we all love to do in the Summertime!

The fruits and veggies that I have added to my homemade Wellness Water are extremely nourishing and here is why:

  • Watermelon: rich in vitamins A and C, plus antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.

  • Grapefruit: high in vitamins A and C and a great source of potassium and fiber.

  • Lemon: high in vitamin C, provides antibacterial and anti-fungal benefits as well as a great detoxifier.

  • Lime: high in vitamin C and also provides detoxifying and alkalizing benefits.

  • Cucumber: great source of vitamin B5, C and K and provides anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits.

  • Mint: helps with digestive upset and to regulate proper digestion as well as anti-microbial properties.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 8

Here is all you will need:

  • 2 cups organic watermelon, sliced into 1” cubes

  • 1 organic lime, sliced

  • 1 organic lemon, sliced

  • 1/2 organic red grapefruit, sliced and quartered

  • 1 organic cucumber, sliced

  • Mint leaves (I used about 10)

  • 2 quarts water

  • Glass pitcher

  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Combine the organic fruit, cucumber, mint leaves and water in large glass pitcher.

  2. Place in the fridge and let infuse overnight.

  3. To serve, pour infused water into glasses with ice. Add in a piece or two of fruit for show and ENJOY!

The Wellness Water will stay fresh for a few days in the fridge!

Cheers to VIBRANT HEALTH!
